There are two parts of this item, the first part is the magazine, second part is a May calendar with all the programme dates on. This BFI Southbank magazine introduces the films and programmes in May 2019. Below are some of the highlights. The Weimar cinema season - films including The Blue Angel (1930) by Josef von Sternberg, starring Marlene Dietrich. Metropolis directed by Fritz Lang, Song (1928) with Anna May Wong are screened. Stanley Kubrick programme - some of his most renowned films including 2001: A Space Odyssey are shown as well as the films inspired by Kubrick's work, for example Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan. The Cinema of Hirokazu Kore-eda - 6 films directed by this top Japanese auteur are screened, including Like Father, Like Son, award-winner Shoplifters, and Our Little Sister.
