Study by Peter Krämer of Stanley Kubrick's iconic 1968 film '2001: A Space Odyssey' and its continuing message and impact. Using the Kubrick Archive at the University of the Arts London, Kramer traces the evolution of the project and argues that its message of hope for mankind was intended as a counter to the pessimism in Kubrick's previous film, 'Dr Strangelove' (1964). Includes a full list of credits.
